We then post the judges' cards and the winning lineup below, so that you have only the best products for you and your horse. A percentage of the proceeds of the categories reviewed will be given to the charities that our experts have chosen to represent.

Sydney Collier

Area of Expertise: Para-Dressage Location: Plainville, MA Charity: Therapeutic Riding Inc. in Ann Arbor MI At age 16, Sydney earned a spot on the US Para-Dressage team and was the youngest competitor at France's 2014 World Equestrian Games. At age 18, she won the 2016 US Para-Dressage National Championships and became the youngest member in the equestrian portion of the 2016 Paralympics in Rio as a part of Team USA. Sydney placed 7th overall in the highly competitive Para-Dressage grade 1B. She has dedicated her life to service and maintains a busy schedule combining athletic and equestrian training, guest speaking, volunteering, babysitting, and giving riding demonstrations at a variety of events. College is also a big part of Sydney's life. She is currently attending DeVry University on a Paralympic Scholarship, majoring in communication. Alongside these activities, she is honored to have been named Tokyo 2020 Paralympic reserve for the United States Paradressage team!

Felipe Viana

Area of Expertise: Polo Location: East Moriches, NY Charity: Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Felipe was raised in Uruguay on his parent's horse farm and got started playing Polo at the age of 7. He came to the U.S. in 2009 to attend college at the University of Virginia where he majored in economics and history and then joined Team USPA* in 2011. During his time as a student at the University of Virginia, Felipe transitioned from only playing grass polo to learning arena polo as well. Shortly after graduation, he began his successful high-goal grass career in the United States competing for Orchard Hill and Valiente at the 20-goal level. Felipe has captained the U.S. team two times at the World Cup Championships, including winning a silver medal in the 2015 F.I.P. World Championship in Santiago, Chile. He has also competed in top triple-crown championships in the United States and Argentina. Felipe earned a 6-goal handicap while playing for team USPA and has put in the hard work and dedication necessary to succeed in professional polo. He coached the Zone 1 National Youth Tournament Series Championship team in 2017 and is known for giving back to the sport by helping young up-and-coming players and local polo clubs. Felipe won the prestigious $10,000 Equus & Co. award on March 26, 2017, at the USPA Gold Cup® Final in Wellington, Florida. The award honors a Team USPA player who best exemplifies the program’s principles by demonstrating outstanding leadership and commitment to the sport of polo. He is currently a Team USPA* Alumni. *Team USPA is a USPA program designed to enhance and grow the sport of polo in the United States by identifying young, talented American players and providing mentored training and playing opportunities leading to a pool of higher-rated amateur and pro players and the resultant giveback to the sport of polo.

Michael Gascon

Area of Expertise: Paso Fino / Gaited / Horsemanship Location: Poplarville, Mississippi Charity: New Beginnings Paso Fino Horse Rescue Michael is a 5th generation horseman who grew up in the Paso Fino industry showing and performing at the Grand National level from 1993 to the present. He decided 8 years ago that he wanted to move into working with all breeds of horses and become recognized for his ability to train all horses including specializing in problem horses, hot horses, and colt starting. Michael has established an internationally recognized training program, membership, clinician status, & horse training academy. He has won over 50 National & Grand National Championships in Paso Finos and has won the top 5 in mustang makeovers. He has also performed at world-renowned Equine events such as the Equine Affaire (OH & MA), BreyerFest, World Equestrian Games, Hoosier Horse Fair, World Horse Expo, Southern Equine Expo, Michigan Horse Expo, Illinois Horse Fair, Tryon Equestrian Center Saturday Night Lights, TN Walker World Championships, and his Self-Produced Never Give Up Tour (Including Sold Out Night Show At Michigan Horse Expo 2020), among many others. He has ridden & trained horses on all but 2 continents and makes an international trip at least once per year. His disciplines of knowledge include anything from gaited horses, colt starting, and problem horses to dressage, jumping, trick-riding, driving, mounted shooting, reining, western pleasure, and more. He travels around the country multiple times per year to learn any equine discipline he can. He brings back all of this education and adds it to not only his training program and his membership club, but also to his horse training academy and performances. Therapeutic Riding Inc. in Ann Arbor MI

Founded in 1984, TRI’s mission is to provide a therapeutic environment through horseback riding and other activities for people with disabilities or other challenges TRI's participants come from Washtenaw and surrounding counties. They range in age from 4 years old into their 90’s and have a wide variety of disabilities or other challenges. Ask the riders and they’ll tell you that riding is FUN! However so much more is going on. Not only are the riders forming a special bond with their horses, but they are improving their balance, strengthening their muscles, improving their communication and social skills, all while working on their personal and riding goals. These things work together to improve self-esteem and confidence in all other areas of their lives.
