Expert Tip:

Mane 'n tail detanglers are essential for adding good oils back into the hair while helping eliminate breakage and damage. They also even out the porosity of the hair, add moisture, and give it that luxurious shine. Make sure to use oil-based mane 'n tail detanglers when dealing with a heavily matted or knotted mane or tail. Break the matted hair into sections, add your mane 'n tail detangler, and carefully pick the knot from the bottom to the top for the best tangle-free hair care.

Corro Top Rated: Oil-Based Mane and Tail Detanglers

Mane n tail detangler is an essential horse hair care product for styling and keeping your horse's mane and tail tangle-free. While similar items like detangler spray are often used in grooming routines, an oil-based detangler is the most efficient way to tackle any hair tangle. Keep reading to learn more about our top oil-based mane and tail detanglers to help every horse feel like a show horse.

Choosing the Best Mane and Tail Detangler

There are a variety of mane and tail detanglers available from different brands like Straight Arrow, Absorbine, and Cowboy Magic. Ingredients commonly found in oil-based detanglers include chaparral, clover flower extract, dimethicone, linalool, silicon, and meadowsweet.

Natural detanglers frequently use different types of seed extract or leaf extract and other natural ingredients for fragrance and dry hair repair. These extracts can also have a soothing effect on horses with sensitive skin.

Some horsetails may have different hair types that require more lotion-like detanglers with additional conditioning ingredients. You may notice a reduction in the appearance of dry split ends in thick hair after using these detanglers for the first time.

Detanglers can be used to promote the appearance of healthy, curly hair in your horse's tail in conjunction with frequent tail shampoo treatments and high-quality coat supplements. Preparing your horse's mane and tail with an oil-based hair detangler can also prevent excess breakage when brushing long hair.

If you plan on braiding your horse's mane or tail, you should avoid using an oil-based detangler that could make the hair slippery. Instead, a detangler can be applied after braiding to add extra shine and volume to loose tail hairs.
