Description

The Myler MBB Black Steel Flat Shank with a Sweet Iron Forward Tilted Port (MB 36, Level 2-3) is a functional and stylish curb bit that offers a moderate leverage effect with slightly curved black steel fixed flat shanks decorated with stainless-steel dots. The mullen mouthpiece works well for horses with solid basic training with a low, wide, forward angled port that provides some tongue relief when relaxed, but applies greater tongue pressure when the reins are engaged.

Key Benefits

  • Level Up: Myler's unique "level" system means there's a bit for your horse no matter their training. Level 2-3 bits offer precise control through ported mouthpieces that relieve your horse's tongue, however there will still be some degree of pressure for correction. Ideal for moderately experienced horses who show resistance to more restrictive bits.
  • The Basics: Black steel 6 3/4" cheek. Mouthpiece with a 1" port tilted forward at a 45º angle, made of sweet iron with copper inlay for salivation.
  • MBB Black Steel Flat Shanks: Black steel cheek decorated with stainless-steel dots. Curb bit with moderate leverage, uses the combination of fixed cheek and fixed rein to apply pressure to the mouth, chin, and poll. Designed to be used with a curb strap attached to the purchase, which is angled away from the cheek to prevent rubbing. Black will change to brown over time.
  • Mullen Low Port with Forward Tilt (MB 36): Myler alternative to a traditional mullen. The low, wide port offers enough tongue relief for the horse to swallow, but is not high enough for palate pressure. The forward tilted angle applies some tongue pressure, especially when the reins are engaged. Curved shape applies pressure mainly on the bars and lips without pinching them.
  • Independent Side Movement: Entire shank moves independently from the mouthpiece which means more control and clearer communication between you and your horse.
