The Myler 3-Ring Combination Bit with a Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel (MB 02, Level 1) is a highly versatile hybrid bit that features a noseband and chinstrap connected through the purchase and a choice of rein positions: a big ring for direct pressure or lower rings for a mild leverage effect. Using the lower rings causes the horse to feel rein pressure in the nose, chin, and poll before the mouthpiece, allowing the horse to respond to rein aids before mouthpiece pressure fully engages. The Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel mouthpiece provides kinder pressure distribution on the tongue than a typical three-piece, while still applying enough correctional pressure for a horse just learning the basics.

    Key Benefits

    • Level Up: Myler's unique "level" system means there's a bit for your horse no matter their training. Level 1 offers the most control and the least amount of tongue relief. Ideal for a young or inexperienced horse.
    • The Basics: Stainless-steel 3-ring combination bit with 6" shanks. Wide barrel mouthpiece made of sweet iron with copper inlay for salivation. Leather noseband with knotted cord and a chin strap made of synthetic material to avoid stretching over time. Available in two sizes.
    • 3-Ring Combination: Choose the big ring for direct pressure or the lower rings for a mild leverage effect. The mouthpiece can slide 1" before engaging. Noseband and chin strap are connected though the purchase, which swivels independently and is slightly angled to prevent rubbing.
    • Comfort Snaffle Wide Barrel (MB 02): Rotates and applies pressure on the tongue. The curved shape wraps around the bars and lips to prevent pinching and the center barrel creates kinder pressure distribution.
    • Independent Swivel Cheek: The purchase of the cheek piece is able to move independently of the shank, preventing it from poking or rubbing the horse’s cheek when the reins are engaged.
    • Independent Side Movement: Entire shank moves independently from the mouthpiece which means more control and clearer communication between you and your horse.
